These are included in the enrolment fee.  These will be sent by post or courier to participants.  Because these materials are physically mailed to the participants it is not necessary for participants to download vast quantities of data.  System sizing software will also be supplied.

Weekly Assignments

Participants will have weekly assignments and quizzes at scheduled dates.

Major Project

In addition to the weekly assignments a major project (typically 20 to 30 pages single spaced with graphics or spreadsheets) is to be submitted at the end of week 12.

Topics may be selected from the following:

  • Device Physics: Solar Cell Structure;
  • Remote Area Power Supply Design;
  • Hybrid Systems Design;
  • Photovoltaic Water Pumping;
  • Grid Interactive Photovoltaic Systems;
  • Building Integrated Photovoltaics;
  • Economic Issues for Photovoltaics;
  • Government Policy Issues for Photovoltaics; and
  • Photovoltaics for the Developing World.

Participants may also negotiate with the course administrator for special topics of personal interest.

 

Course Outcomes

Successful participants of the course will receive a certificate of study from the School of Photovoltaic and Renewable Energy Engineering at The University of New South Wales.
