Virtual World Solar Challenge
The World Solar Car Challenge was first held in 1987, and is as much an intellectual challenge as a technical and physical challenge. As part of this race teams design and build a solar car and race them from Darwin to Adelaide. This race attracts competitors from corporations and universities all over the world and is a showcase of innovation, technical excellence and scientific expertise in the pursuit of alternative transport technologies. The 8th World Solar Car Challenge will be held 25th September to the 2nd October 2005.
Staff at our Centre have designed a Virtual Solar Car Challenge as a teaching tool for our undergraduate programs. It is a fantastic game of strategy and skill. As part of this game students design and race a virtual solar car from Darwin to Adelaide.
