Immediate Life Threatening Emergencies
In case of an emergency of immediate threat to life, such as bomb,
fire, or medical emergency, do the following:
- Make the area safe IF POSSIBLE otherwise leave immediately.
For example: if power loss, disconnect power source and tag it
if time permits. For a small flood, evacuate immediate area.
- Dial ext 56666 from an UNSW internal phone, or dial (02) 9385
6666 from an external phone.
- Send a broadcast page by either:
- calling (02) 9385 9666 or (02) 9430 6878, and tell them you want to send a broadcast
page, or
- email 514994.solar@e2m.hutch.com.au;
type in the content of the broadcast page and send the email
- Take appropriate actions according to UNSW emergency procedures.
Non - Life Threatening Emergencies
If the emergency is not of immediate threat to life, for example
a small flood, or loss of power, do the following:
- Make the area safe. For example: for loss of power, disconnect
power source and tag it. For a small flood, evacuate immediate
area.
- Report to the Lab Development and Operation Team via pager:
- call (02) 9385 9666 or (02) 9430 6878 and tell them you want to send a page to
the Lab Development group; or
- send an email to 245286.solar@e2m.hutch.com.au
- Report the problem to the Repair Book or New Project Book both
located in G13 if necessary.
NOTE:
- If in doubt, treat the emergency as life threatening.
- Any emergencies that need to be reported to either the UNSW
OHS and Works Compensation Unit and/or Work Cover will be organised
by the Laboratory Development and Operations Team with the appropriate
