We are presently bringing screen- and stencil-print
capabilities online at UNSW. A first project hybridises laser-processing
and selectively diffused emitter with stencil-printed metalisation.
To achieve the fine, but thick lines needed to print contact pastes
into a shallow groove, we are developing stencil making capabilities
based on laser lithography. The following Scanning Electron Microscope
(SEM) images show some early results of stencil fabrication.
Single level stencil (100 µm scale)
This first image shows a single level stencil while
the second SEM image shows a double level stencil. It should be
noted that the second level has not been completed in this photograph.
The opening in the single-level stencil is 50 microns wide.
